Santiam Hospital & Clinics is pleased to welcome Taylor E. Brown, NP, to our Women’s Health team under the leadership of Amanda E. Wagner, MD, OBGYN. With extensive hands-on experience, a strong background in women’s health, and a deeply rooted commitment to patient-centered care, Taylor brings both expertise and compassion to the Santiam community.
A Strong Foundation in Women’s Health
Taylor’s passion for women’s health stems from both personal insight and years of clinical experience. After supporting her mother through a breast cancer diagnosis more than a decade ago, Taylor witnessed firsthand the impact that knowledgeable, empathetic care can have on women navigating challenging health concerns. This experience—combined with her professional work—sparked her dedication to women’s health across the lifespan.
Taylor established her nursing career in high-acuity Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units across the country, caring for mothers and their newborns during some of their most critical moments. Her NICU background continues to inform her thoughtful, relationship-centered approach to prenatal and postpartum care.
Experienced Women’s Health Provider
Importantly, Taylor joins Santiam after the last year and a half practicing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Mountain Park Health Center, a federally qualified health center serving a diverse patient population in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, she provided comprehensive women’s healthcare—including prenatal care, contraceptive counseling, gynecologic exams, and infertility support—allowing her to refine her clinical skills and deliver confident, independent patient care.
Prior to her time at Mountain Park Health Center, Taylor completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Arizona State University, gaining additional clinical training in a variety of women’s health and community health settings, including Valleywise Community Health Center, Planned Parenthood Arizona, Gila River Health Care, and Dignity Health’s Breast Oncology Clinic. Her training and subsequent real-world practice give her a depth of experience that strengthens her ability to support patients across backgrounds and life stages.
Clinical Areas of Expertise
Taylor brings strong clinical skills and several areas of focus, including:
- Contraception counseling, helping patients choose the option that best fits their lifestyle and goals
- Prenatal care, shaped by her NICU experience and deep understanding of maternal–infant needs
- Infertility care, where she provides compassionate guidance through a complex and emotional journey
She is committed to care that is rooted in clear communication, education, and respect for each patient’s lived experience.
A Care Philosophy Built on Empowerment
Taylor’s approach centers on empowering women to make informed decisions about their health. She prioritizes honesty, education, and a completely non-judgmental environment where patients feel seen, supported, and comfortable advocating for themselves.
Beyond the Clinic
Outside the exam room, Taylor enjoys spending time with her two dogs, relaxing with a warm matcha, and diving into a good romance fantasy novel. Her warm, approachable personality reflects the kind of care she provides.
We’re Thrilled to Welcome Her
Taylor is an exceptional addition to our Women’s Health team, and we’re excited for our community to benefit from her skill, compassion, and commitment to comprehensive women’s care.
