Santiam Hospital and Clinics is excited to announce the grand opening of our newly expanded Emergency Room (ER) early October. After over a year of careful construction and planning, our state-of-the-art ER is ready to provide enhanced care to the Santiam Canyon Community and surrounding areas. This expansion is a testament to our dedication to delivering top-quality healthcare, ensuring that when emergencies occur, our patients receive prompt, efficient, and comprehensive care.

Our expanded ER features several key improvements aimed at enhancing the patient experience and supporting our medical teams in delivering top-notch care:
- Increased Capacity: The new ER includes seven additional private patient examination rooms, allowing us to serve more patients simultaneously. This means shorter wait times and quicker access to the care you need.
- Advanced Medical Technology: We’ve equipped our ER with the latest medical technology, including upgrades such as e-power updates for crisis and disaster preparedness. These enhancements are designed to ensure safety and security while improving workflows and supporting the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Enhanced Patient Comfort: Understanding that an ER visit can be stressful, we’ve prioritized patient comfort in our new design. The expanded space includes private treatment rooms, a more spacious waiting area, and thoughtful design elements that create a calming environment.
- Improved Workflow for Staff: The new layout of our ER is designed with efficiency in mind, enabling our medical staff to provide care more swiftly and effectively. Streamlined workflows mean faster diagnosis and treatment for patients, ensuring that critical care is delivered without delay.
A Community Effort
This expansion would not have been possible without the incredible support of our community and the Santiam Hospital & Clinics Foundation. The Foundation has been instrumental in raising the funds necessary for this project through the generous donations of local families and businesses. The $5 million campaign, which began with a $1 million donation from the A.J. Frank Family Foundation and was followed by a matching $1 million contribution from Freres Engineered Wood, is a true testament to the deep ties and commitment these families have to our community’s health and well-being.
