We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammographers to join our diagnostic imaging team. You will perform high-quality breast imaging, DEXA scans and general radiologic studies across various hospital departments. Position Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday (12-hour shifts)

Job Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Promptly and competently perform mammography studies, as ordered by Hospital Medical Staff, according to established standards and guidelines.
  • Promptly and competently perform radiologic procedures, as ordered by Hospital Medical Staff, in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, the Emergency Department, Surgery, and Hospital inpatient areas, according to established standards and guidelines.
  • Transmit mammography study images to contracted teleradiology services as is indicated.
  • Read mammography study reports to ordering Medical Staff as requested.
  • Provide assistance with Department paperwork, clerical, and reception tasks when such assistance
    is needed.
  • Ensure patient safety and well-being at all times.
  • Transport patients to and from the mammography unit when appropriate.
  • Thoroughly and accurately explain mammography purposes, protocol, and expectations to patients.
  • Assist with patient undressing and dressing as is indicated.
  • Consistently use proper radiation safety and provide proper radiation protection for patients
    and others.
  • Elicit and record applicable patient medical history as is indicated.
  • Respond to cardiac arrest as is appropriate.
  • Appropriately maintain the mammography unit on an ongoing basis.
  • Log in to the unit at the beginning of each day and log out of the unit at the end of each day.
  • Maintain work area equipment on a daily basis.
  • Promptly report equipment in need of repair to the appropriate person.
  • On a daily basis, stock equipment that includes forms, linens, and other supplies.
  • Ensure sanitary conditions on an ongoing basis.
  • Quickly adapt to novel techniques and procedures related to the position.
  • Attend continuing education programs pertinent to radiology in general and the position in particular.
  • Maintain proficiency with the Department picture archiving and communication system, radiology information system, and clinical information system.
  • Assist with Department Performance Improvement as assigned.
  • Consistently work to improve the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

Job Qualifications

What You’ll Need:

  • Knowledge of principles that relate to the position.
  • DEXA experience preferred.
  • Current quality accreditation records (MQSA/ACR).
  • Aptitude in verbal and written communication, including ability to communicate with persons in all age groups.
  • Possession of a degree from an accredited school of diagnostic imaging.
  • Possession of current mammography certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, that can be confirmed and verified.
  • Possession of current licensure by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging for Medical Imaging.
  • Possession of United States proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a driver license or analogous identification.
