We are seeking a Human Resources and Compliance Coordinator to enhance our healthcare team of innovative leaders.
Santiam Hospital & Clinics is an independent, not-for-profit, 40 bed acute-care community-based hospital with 13 clinics across 8 specialties settled in the foothills of the Cascades serving many recreational sites as well as agricultural communities. Job Responsibilities
- Implement and coordinate Hospital human resources programs, and ensure that elements of such programs comply with Hospital policy and local, state, and federal law.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of policy, practice, and programs that relate to Hospital human resources, and, in response to such evaluation, detect and resolve pertinent problems, identify improvement opportunities, and inform Hospital senior management about applicable developments.
- Oversee preparation and applicable delivery of reports that are pertinent to human resources functions, including periodic such reports, intended for delivery to senior management, that summarize Hospital progress toward realization of strategic objectives.
- Manage development and maintenance of Hospital website content that discusses topics germane to human resources matters, and ensure that such discussion is based on accurate and current data about Hospital culture, Hospital recruitment efforts, and the Hospital as a company.
- Designate and coordinate applicable Hospital staff and Medical Staff member training and education, including education that takes place during member orientation and in-service, in matters that relate to pertinent human resources topics (e.g. member employment benefits).
- Advise senior management about recruitment and hiring process in manner that encourages Hospital process optimization.
- Advise senior management about practices and programs that have potential to enhance Hospital staff and Medical Staff member morale and motivation.
- Advice senior management about matters that relate to Hospital wage and salary structure, incentive-based compensation, and policy intended to formalize such structure and compensation.
- Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, hiring and onboarding.
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution.
- Maintain the HRIS, including customization, development, and maintenance and upgrading applications.
- Perform other duties assigned by Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
Job Qualifications
- Experience within a healthcare setting in management of human resources and administration of benefits and compensation programs, preferable
- Possession of a baccalaureate, baccalaureate equivalent, or advanced degree in a field pertinent to human resources management
- Knowledge of principles that relate, within hospital and medical clinic settings, to human resources coordination
- Knowledge and experience, within a healthcare setting, in pertinent areas that might include compensation, employment law, organizational development, organizational planning, preventative labor relations, and staff member education, relations, safety, and training, as well as receipt of formal training in one or more such areas
- Above average aptitude in verbal and written communication
- Facility in technical skills that include electronic database management, recordkeeping, and spreadsheet software use
- Willingness to participate in Hospital orientation and educational in-service
