Santiam Hospital is proud to employ only board-certified Pulmonologist that are committed to providing the utmost quality care to our patients and community. The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Santiam Hospital provides expert diagnosis and exceptional care of patients with lung diseases in the clinic and hospital, as well as of critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit.
John Silver, MD, FCCP, is the lead Pulmonologist/Intensivist and director of the ICU team. Dr. Silver, who specializes in pulmonary and critical care medicine in both outpatient and inpatient settings leads the Santiam Pulmonary Clinic part of Santiam Hospital.
As an Intensivist, he provides critical care for patients in the ICU. Dr. Silver is also the Director of the Intensivist Program, which was established in 2013, at Santiam Hospital. As the ICU Director, his purpose is to improve the quality of care in the intensive care unit. Currently, the ICU has an intensivist available every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., as well as some nights. On-call intensivist coverage is provided 24/7.
"Thanks to the new ICU, we were able to build a Pulmonary Critical Care Program," said Dr. Silver. "with pulmonary care on site, the hospital can better meet the needs of our local patients and their families, plus provide the opportunity for more specialty care programs to be added."
